Evening Skincare Routine: A Targeted Active Ingredient
August 28, 2026·2 min read
ZoomIn the evenings, I can devote more time to my routine, so this is when I like to create a varied, flexible routine that reflects my skin's needs.
The products I use in my routine:
- Benton Guava 70 Skin Toner Face Mask Pad
- Mary Kay TimeWise Eye Cream
- Revox Just Salicylic Acid 2%
- XYCOS Cica Green Serum
- Primark Prep + Perfect Vitamin Enriched Moisturising Primer
How do I build my routine?
- Toner pads – I wipe my cleansed face with the toner-soaked pads and let the guava extract absorb for about 1–2 minutes.
- Eye area – Using my ring finger, I gently work in the TimeWise Eye Cream with light patting and circular motions.
- Salicylic acid – I spread 2–3 drops over my entire face, applying it especially to my nose and T-zone.
- Cica serum – After the salicylic acid, I soothe my skin with the Cica serum to minimize possible irritation.
- Moisturizer – Finally, I apply the moisturizing primer to my face. It prepares my skin for makeup the following morning and provides hydration throughout the night.
Personal experience and tips
- Listen to your skin! If salicylic acid causes irritation, reduce its use to once a week.
- Don't forget hydration! The Cica serum and moisturizer make a perfect hydrating pair.
- Consistency vs. flexibility – It is helpful to keep a consistent framework of toner and hydration, while adapting targeted active-ingredient steps, such as salicylic acid, to your skin's current condition.
This makes my routine not only effective but enjoyable too—every evening becomes a small ritual that helps me care for myself.
