A Brief History of Clarins

Jacques Courtin-Clarins opened his first beauty salon in Paris in 1954 with the goal of "making beauty real and natural." The first product was a body lotion that sculpted the skin and reduced the appearance of cellulite. By the 1990s, Clarins had become "the world's number one European skincare brand." Their first makeup collection launched in 1991 in eco-friendly packaging.

Product Review

The Ever Matte Compact Powder contains organic mulberry and peach extracts. The "mulberry extract reduces sebum production and minimizes shine," while the peach extract nourishes the skin. The powder comes in six shades, though only four are available in Hungary.

As someone with a fair complexion, I chose shade 03 (light medium) for the summer months. The "finely pressed powder" has a pleasant scent and a light texture that applies smoothly. However, "by the afternoon, the oiliness of my combination skin shows through in the T-zone" — a familiar experience for combination skin types.
