A Brief History of Dior

The House of Dior, founded in 1946, is synonymous with Christian Dior, whose design vision radically transformed women's fashion. The brand initially focused on clothing and shoes before gradually expanding its product range. The first perfume, Miss Dior, was named after Christian's sister, Catherine Dior. The Christian Dior Cosmetics division, established in 1969, represents an exclusive makeup and skincare line.

The Product: Forever Natural Bronze Dioriviera

The bronzer is a "naturally skin-adapting, soft and lightweight" formula. It contains wild pansy to help maintain skin hydration and is "enriched with 95% mineral-origin pigments to deliver a natural, healthy glow."

I picked up this limited edition at Douglas in shade 004 Tan Bronze. The powder compact is adorned with bayadere motifs — a true collector's piece.

Application Technique

Dior recommends the number 3 drawing technique: the brush sweeps from the forehead down to the cheekbone, then blends into the blush area, and finally continues to the center of the chin. Repeated on both sides, it creates an even, natural bronzed effect. Contouring beneath the jawline further enhances the sun-kissed look.

I use the Pupa Angled Blusher Brush, which delivers a "subtle, natural finish." Despite being a powder formula, it sits comfortably on the skin.
