Vichy – Product ReviewZoom

Dr. Prosper Haller discovered the beneficial properties of Vichy thermal water and founded the Vichy Dermatological Hygiene company in 1931. The French spring water is rich in minerals and has beneficial effects on the skin. Vichy was the first brand to categorize its products by skin type.

PURETÉ THERMALE Toner

An alcohol-free facial toner with vitamin E. A plus: "it didn't dry or irritate my skin or my eyes." Paraben-free and hypoallergenic. However, the promised hydrating effect wasn't noticeable — if anything, it can leave the skin feeling slightly drier.

Minéral 89 Booster

A booster containing 15 minerals, hyaluronic acid, and thermal water. Its gel texture is well-suited to combination skin. Used daily it provides hydration, though it "leaves a slight tacky feeling after application."

AQUALIA THERMAL Moisturizer

A moisturizer with hyaluronic acid and Vichy thermal water, available in Light and Rich versions. Unfortunately it proved too rich for my combination skin — I found it suitable only for evening use.

Where to Find It

Vichy products are available in Hungary at pharmacies, brand stores, and online retailers, regularly available with "discounts of up to 20–30%."
