DECIEM, the beauty company behind The Ordinary, was founded by Iranian-Canadian entrepreneur Brandon Truaxe, whose brand portfolio also includes NIOD and Hylamide. The products contain top-tier actives, most are free from fragrance and irritants, and none are tested on animals. They launched in 2016 and immediately became hugely popular for their accessible pricing.

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Helps control sebum production and reduces the appearance of breakouts and clogged pores. It has a gel texture, absorbs quickly, and is easy to dispense with the pipette. After 3–4 weeks of regular use, my breakouts decreased and my pores appeared smaller.

Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%

Its high azelaic acid concentration helps reduce breakouts and fade dark spots. It can feel slightly drying after application and a mild tingling sensation is possible. An SPF 25–30 sunscreen is recommended during the day due to potential photosensitivity.

An antioxidant serum that strengthens the skin's defenses, boosts the effectiveness of sun protection, and fights against skin aging. Oil-free formula, suitable for combination and oily skin. Do not combine with azelaic acid, as it reduces efficacy.

Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

A gel-serum that increases the skin's water retention and strengthens its protective barrier. Relieves the sensation of dry, tight skin — recommended for all skin types.
