Paula's Choice was founded in 1975 by American Paula Beth Begoun. The brand's mission is healthy, beautiful skin: quality actives, with no fragrance or irritants. Products are never tested on animals and their efficacy is backed by independent scientific literature.

DEFENSE Hydrating Gel-to-Cream Cleanser: A cleanser that transforms from gel to cream upon contact with water. Gentle and effective at removing makeup and daily impurities — suitable for all skin types and won't irritate eczema-prone skin.

Skin Balancing Pore-Reducing Toner: A lightweight hydrating toner recommended for combination and oily skin, containing niacinamide to address enlarged pores, blackheads, inflammation, and redness.

Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant: A chemical exfoliant for combination and oily skin, effective against breakouts, blackheads, enlarged pores, and fine lines. I switched from physical exfoliation after learning that "surface scrubbing can easily damage the upper skin layer."

RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum: A lightweight antioxidant serum with vitamin C — dries quickly, non-sticky, though I didn't notice dramatic changes from it personally.

DEFENSE Antioxidant Pore Purifier: A gel-textured serum with vitamin C, azelaic acid, and niacinamide — strengthens the skin's natural defenses against environmental stressors.

RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator: An anti-aging gel moisturizer with silicone. Fine for summer, but not enough for winter.

RESIST Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30: A tinted physical sunscreen with a matte finish and antioxidants — for combination and oily skin, safe to use around the eye area.

RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Fluid SPF 50: An incredibly lightweight chemical sunscreen with SPF 50 and hydrating benefits — leaves a faint white cast before absorption.
